I'd be interested too - from Bicester so any direction possible. I don't get out much so open to suggestions. How about the Ardley venue already mentioned by TheBoy (The Fox and Hounds M40 J10) or Wendlebury / Bucknell / Kidlington ??

Cheers
Ian.

Would be intrested dependant on date and work commitments along with venue , would be good if one of the Tech 2 owners were able to join us, could do with the auto gearbox software uprgade.

Yep, sounds good...I can normally make myself free whenever.
How about next weekend? 27th or 28th
Really doesn't matter to me when, but may as well suggest some date to try and get it organised.
As for venue, not sure...I did suggest to Kai Cutteslowe park. I've got space here, currently got 5 cars and a Van...so if they've gone there's some space here, and a nice pub opposite that does good food. The pub managers a top bloke, so we could park a few there.

Tunnie- Sounds good, do you need your Halfords card back yet? And hopefully the E60 will be here soon  :D
Ian- That's good  :y Has your Elite still got the occasional noise from the back, or has it gone? And that tyre you gave me saved my life the other day, saved me from an MOT failiure...so lunch is definitely on me!

be aware Hellfrauds are doing spot checks on card misuse, so ensure the signature is close-ish if you are asked to sign  (or go in with a fake arm sling, claiming you can only sign left handed ::))

Post by: ianu on 28 February 2010, 13:45:43
Shall we fix a plan then and at least we can organise around that.
I propose Saturday 6th 12:30ish - start with a bit of lunch in the pub opposite Josh - followed by either a cruise ! over to Cutteslowe or a mingle in the pub car park.
Josh - do you want to give details of the Pub. Good to hear the tyre was useful - my noise was the exhaust which I've since changed and had bigger problems since  :(

If we don't all make this time - always a next time 'praps.. :)

Sounds like a plan Ian!
The pub is The Black Horse, I don't know the postcode... but for anyone travelling further I'm at; 13 Banbury Road, Kidlington, Oxfordshire, OX5 1AQ and the pub is opposite me.

Sadly I suspect I may have to drop out, due to my car needing urgent attention, and the car is 90 miles away limits fixing time to weekends I suspect.

I hope this meeting goes ahead, and becomes a regular thing, as it would be good to meet some of you localish guys :y

Post by: ianu on 02 March 2010, 17:52:36
Sorry Kai - I don't - but I've got a couple of bits I'll bring along anyway if anyone can use them:
HBV and ICV from my old 2.5 that actually didn't need replacing in the first place (these are the old ones) :(
Sorry to hear you can't make it Jaime - was reading your other thread on here about your current problems - hope you get it sorted quickly - sounds like you've got the right team on it.

So - from the thread - no obligation of course - but looks like we might have Kai, London Flyer, Josh, Tunnie, Nitro and Chrisgixer for Saturday lunch 12:30 ish at the Black Horse. I'll be wearing a black Omega.. anyone else welcome obviously too.. :y

Cheers
Ian

I can do the 7th - but does depend on timing as my lad has a footy match highly likely to be in the  early afternoon. I'll be able to double check the time of this by tomorrow evening hopefully - what are your limitations Tunnie ?

OK all - final offer if this suits the majority - don't think we're going to get much closer than this - so:

Sunday afternoon 2:30 - 3:00pm at the Black Horse Kiddlington. I should be back from my lads footy match for this time - but obviously you can start without me. Hopefully at this time the Sunday Lunch revellers will have gone and we'll have a bit of room to ourselves and we can finish up with an 'orange juice' instead of starting with one  :)

Lets fix this time and date now - otherwise we'll end up with nothing - worst case scenario I'll look like a Billy No Mates in the pub drinking a coke on my own. Look forward to seeing those that can make it - if not I'm sure we won't leave it long to try again. I'll try and remember to bring a camera as well  :y
Cheers

Title: Re: Oxford meet
Post by: TheBoy on 05 March 2010, 16:45:01
Should add, Kidlington holds bad memories of a night out in Oxford...   ...far to much to drink, porrly, we all went back to where my mates girlfriend lodged (in Kidlington), were very ill etc etc.

Amazing how things sort of change. That night, I bet Mrs TB for the first time, but we hated each other.  Due to the noise, my mate's girlfriend was kicked out of where see was staying, so she came to lodge with me. I never got off with the bird I was trying to get off with all night, but then ended up working with her. And I ended up going out with Mrs TB about a year later.

Small world is Oxford ;D

Do you know the audi garage? Or Kidlington centre, with tesco's and co-op etc? Very near there. If you're driving along away from Oxford towards Banbury you will pass the audi garage on your left just by a set of traffic lights. After the lights...about 5 seconds drive, I'm on the left and the pub is on the right opposite me. There are two pubs next to each other, one is a small square one called The Black Bull, and The Black Horse is next to it, it used to be a coach house and is a long building. I'm opposite at 13 Banbury Road, in a tall house with big black gates, Y189 HKE will be at the front of the drive as it stands out quite well.

Hi all - thanks for coming along it was good to meet you all - especially those that had come a fair few miles too. Apart from the wind chill - what a glorious sunny day and pretty good rendezvous spot.
As you know I took some pictures - but before I upload the majority - is anyone fussed about having their reg number displayed ?
I'll post a few that are OK anyway - otherwise let me know if you DONT want your reg on display. I'll put them on a Canon site and post the link back on here shortly.
Cheers

good day, thanks all, not worried about reg... :)
I had to take a double take when I saw you there - didn't seem like a few hours since I last saw you and Mrs Chrisgixer ;D
11.5 hours since i think, done some miles this weekend, was her idea too. Although we planned to leave earlier, Reading/Villa traffic put a stop to that and bloody road works everywhere you turn......m40 more fun than m4  ;) ;D

OK all - this is pretty much the lot. For those that left first you might notice we had a last minute bit of artistic flourish  :osorry we missed you out before the light finally faded and we'd still got enough feeling in our fingers to operate a camera .

I haven't edited any of these - you should be able to download them yourself if you're interested in any of them (apologies for the slight bias towards more of my car - it was it's first day out  ::).
If you have problems - let me know and I can e-mail them if necessary - or if you want one taking off..
Look forward to another time somewhere else soon  :y.

Cheers
Ian.

nice run for VTL.  wouldnt normaly donut about the place, but was a 3.2i with an LSD and Manual box, and only a basic one, so why not!!
Any how, someone more local to the meet today will be taking care of that car from now on. The only test drive i have ever taken a "customer" on, that involved such use of the clutch and TC button ;) lol
