Since my back is really bad and the HG isdefiantely going I thought I would price up doing it at a local garage.
Good reputation, I asked if he had a locking kit yet, still didn't then said he didn't need one and you time it by lining up the pulleys to the back plate. :o
No point doing this as I would have to strip back down to belts before driving home >:(
I am just hoping it wil hold out another week or so and my back is better by next week.

Errr, the timing slots in the backplate are at best very very rough guides.
-
another one to avoid then >:( >:(

KNown to have quite a good reputation but I know he tends to err on the side of caution for part replacement.
The only ball up I know of was replacing a cracked exhaust manifold on a Renault when the coil pack had gone
-
BTW I do get him to do my MOTs

surely James is a better bet?
I hope so - I would offer him some financial recompense if he wanted it, failing that as many burgers as he could eat.

I've not done the mobile mechanics for a while- however If you want a days help, it's not a problem if we can come to a mutually agreeable time.
For you Martin, I don't want any cash aside of travel - Your bill would comprise of a few beers and keeping the tea flowing ;D :y
