Title: need to sort out some exhaust bits
Post by: Plomien on 29 May 2009, 22:58:39
I have been quoted £250ish for my exhaust to be repaired.
replacing parts gm176t x2 and gm178p
what are your thoughts on the price is it good or too much?

£380 including fitting

with a lifetime warranty as long as you go back once a year to have the welds checked

not bad if you look at it in the long run :y

If you shop around a bit more you should be able to get a full system fitted for around £200 but wouldn't expect to get much more than 3 years from it.
You could get the parts and do it yourself for around £130.

www.eternalcar.com will do you a complete system for around 120 delivered. As good a quality as you're going to get in a pattern system.

Kevin

Just bought a brand new Eternal system today for the MV6, Kev.

Given that VX don't do the decent double skinned exhaust anymore, I honestly think Eternal is as good as it gets...

Agreed. For the price they can't be beaten. Although my back box has started rattling recently. Haven't had a close look yet to determine if it's a loose clip or something internal. :-/

I am going to pay the extra after chatting with a friend who has used them.
Will give them a ring today once they open to book it in later this week.
They also adjust it to give the sound I want :y (nothing too chav just a nice rumble from the V6 ;) )

Grrr called to book it in and the nearest site is closed for a month >:( >:(
They will let me know when they re-open though I can survive a month with the current exhaust so its not a major problem
