Title: Air con question
Post by: jonnycool on 06 July 2009, 14:22:39
I know that you use aircon to cool the car down when it's hot, but what's the point of using aircon (and the extra petrol) on the warm setting? I know it de-humidifies the air, but is there any other benefit to using it on warm? I mean, might as well just use the heater eh?  Something I've just wanted to know  :)

keeps the de-hum active, clear windows, cleaner air, and helps keep it running all year round, saving leaks in the summer.  as when its not used for a few months the rubber seals perish and dry out.
the aircon pumps liquified gas round the system, carrying oil with it to help lubricate the seals and components.  but, you dont have to use it.
