Title: A little poll about polishing for curiosities sake
Post by: Lazydocker on 05 August 2009, 22:50:06
Having nearly killed myself today with washing, claying and Meguires 3 step polishing the Mig I thought I'd ask opinions on polishing. :y :y

Only time I would ever use a machine on a car is when buffing.

If the car has had the full clay treatment then I would not go near the car with a power polisher at all.

Top tip - the Meg's 3-stage is good, but the wax has all the longevity of a snowball in hell.

Get some Collinite 476S (from Ebay), slap a couple of coats of that on - I guarantee it'll last months. I've seen it still beading water six months after application.

Great on wheels too - you can wipe brake dust off with a wet finger.
