I am struggling to find a 3.2 Estate, so am now looking at other makes :(
What would you suggest, ideally i want to keep rear wheel drive or AWD. Must be estate.
Currently looked at Lexus IS300, Jag X-type, Audi A$ and A6, Subaru Legacy, BMW 3 and 5 series and C-class Merc.
All have there faults and none really match up with the Omega on comfort and pass leg room behind me ;D
Anyone have any good knowledge on any of the above?
Any to stay clear of?
TIA

Personally, Subaru or BMW.. :y
-
subaru seem to have a good reputation afaict, wheels in motion say they never see them in their set up bay. Crap plastic interior tho.
Can vouch a bit for beamer e39, solid cars but need a load of bushes changing when they get to 120k ish. Dont chip if auto box, but then you knew that.
Saab? Still GM lumps and tech 2 works afaik. Maybe the pedal trick and paper clip test will as well.

3 Series BMW, I got one fantastic car :y

I think I'd go for the 300C V8 estate ....... bound to uspet a few of the boy racers at the traffic light Grande Prix! ;D

Love the saloons but the estates look odd to me, they have grown on me mind you.

Theres 4 3.2 Mig estates on autotrader, if you do a national search. How specific a car are you looking for?
-
If i had to leave Migs i'd take the Audi route. Making some nice, fast, comfy, RWD "proper" cars over the last few years.
If i did'nt run a Mig i'd have an Audi, no doubt. :y

Do NOT buy a mercedes C class.....if its is pre 2004 stay away, the old shape C is very badly made and unreliable ( I know someone with a 51 reg C220 CDI estate and it is rusting in all 4 wheel arches + has loads of engine problems. :o >:( )
I have had 4 BMWs on the the trot before the miggy and they were all great. Couldn't beleive how well they take the miles...so a 330i or 530i touring would be my choice hands down. Of coure the A6 looks nice too, but not even close for handling enjoyment, also BMW engines always give really good MPG and are easy (ish) to work on. The jag X-type is basically just a posh mondeo, and I would personally rather have an ST220 estate as it looks far better and probably cheaper too.

A4 and A6 are both FWD or Quattro.

Mondeo seats are no good to me as the front does not tilt up to sort under the thighs, the Jag does.
Bmw's are good for fuel indeed, but a pain to get with lumber and has to be a Sport to get the front of the seat lifting up.
Audi are good but hard to get with the right seats and to get without Mulitronic gearbox as they are always breaking >:(
-
I would like an LS400 or E38 740i or xj6/8 - would have to have lpg.
-
...im going to say it... i am.... Volvo V70R :P 4wd and 300bhp lmao! comfy seats too!
plus it does sound nice :P

2 have massive mileage. 1 is WAY to dear and the other one is not that good and too many miles for me as i want to keep for some time and do 12k per year.
-
Get a 320d or 330d touring :y

320d Touring is the better car and can be chipped without gearbox trouble, but very hard to find in Sport format with lowish mileage and in Auto :(

I got one you could have but it's a saloon and a manual, how much cash you got as I know of a few about.

This is auto lower mileage, just to say though it will do the mileage easily, a mate of mine who doesn't really care for his cars has a 2002 320d it's done 223k feels tight still even with that mileage.
Mine has 76k and feels like new :y
