Surely its just a question of swapping your 3.0 bits onto the 3.2.

No just lazy, 3.2 would cost more than a 3.0 i should imagine. Least with 3.0 its just a case of dropping it in, not having to mess around with DBW stuff.

that's what Pete & I were talking about. Just use the 3.0 bits on the 3.2 ..... I'd guess the 3.0 ECU etc would be able to cope  ::)  :y

Daft question - what is the 3.0 ECU linked to, apart from the fuel and ignition? Can you swap one for another, does it need Tech 2'ing, or is it impossible?

I'm guessing due to the different ignition setups the 3.0 ECU won't fit a 2.6 or 3.2, but that's by the by.

i think what the guys are saying isyou would have to keep the various sensors, throttle cable inlet,(3.2 is drive by wire) coil pack and various engine management parts from the 3.0 and and fit them to the 3.2 lump to match the 3.0 ecu.....not sure if anyone on here has actually done it?

The biggest restriction is the exhaust manifolds but the 3.2 are better than the 3.0 ones

Would this be a way to get a 3.2 manual? What are the geabox/clutch issues?
Can you run a 3.2 lump with a 3.0 manual box?

I think the 3.0 and 3.2 boxes are the same :y

So the 3.0 clutch would work as well with the 3.2?

Worth bearing in mind that although the 3.2 has an extra 200cc it's lower compression. Not sure you'd gain a great deal although I'm sure the swap would be straightforward if keeping the 3.0 intake and ignition components. You'd need to junk the SAI and EGR as the 3.2 manifolds don't have provision for them.

I have heard the 3.2's are quite a sleepy engine compared to the 3.0 as in they dont rev as well. Could be wrong tho... :-?

..... but keep the electrickey bits or the managment light will complain.  ;) ;)
