I am very pleased with myself. Fitted a 2.5l box to the engine on my own. Car was on axle stands and all I used was two axle stands, a trolley jack, a metal bar and a scissor jack. They don't tell you that in the Haynes manual! [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

well done. worth the effort, blood, sweat & tears. :D

Well done that man, did you change the ATF and/or filter?

Manual box (bit of a rare one I know) Oil is good in it.

Today I shall reconnect the driveshaft and shift mechanism, aircon pipes, catalytic converters and touch wood, start it for the first time with its new engine. Yay.
-
Driveshaft done, gearstick mechanism connected, one cat in. Had a real problem with the aircon pipes as I couldn't get them past the sump to curl round to the pump so had to remove the pump, then of course, it was a bugger to get back in, finally got there. So, tomorrow's jobs:
Tighten up engine mount
Connect pipes to pump
Bleed clutch
Connect other cat
Finish electrical connections
Fill cooling system
Pray
Start engine.

Nice one. :y

don't forget to reverse bleed that clutch.... :y

Spot on!! Glad you managed to do the deed! Bit like home made jam- always tastes better than the shop bought stuff! ;)
