Title: 3.0 engine and manual gearbox
Post by: realboss7669 on 14 June 2007, 13:49:22
Bought my ex-rozzer Omega MV6 estate as a donor car for my Opel Rekord coupe but having second thoughts as the Omega is so good!!!

Does anyone know of a decent 3.0 (later one with extended plenums) plus manual gearbox for sale? If so let me know how much as I may be interested. My car only cost £175! Engine and gearbox need to be reasonable price. 8-) :y

I would ebay it mate, for spares/repairs omega's. You'll probably get a whole car cheaper than an engine alone!! Look for a car with a failed MOT, or rear accident damage etc..

.. and then you'll get attached to that car, so you'll have 2 Omegas and still be looking for an engine and gearbox!

Thanks bud. Only problem is that one is cleaner and tidier than my MV6!! By the way I picked her up from MOT station today and they fitted that exhaust. She'd failed on headlamp aim and handbrake only.

Runs like a dream now but got squeaking noise near where we replaced that aux belt tensioner pulley. I wonder if one of the others is on the way out. I will drop you an email bud. Loving the car she flies along! I chucked some new mats in her, got her down the jet wash and she's cleaned up well.

One thing I have noticed driving a huge white Omega Estate is that everyone slows down around you as they think you're an unmarked rozzer car!!! Fantastic!
