Title: suspension bits
Post by: hotel21 on 26 August 2009, 21:05:41
Anyone recently sourced new replacement coils and shocks?  Looking for leads for a fair deal on Irmscher/Eibach or similar....  :y

No, but if you wanna learn how to do them, I'll willingly let you change my front shocks at Newent ;D

Seem to remember Theolodian bought some bilstein shocks and some supposedly sports springs for a couple of hundred?

Changing the shocks is not the problem, to be honest, its what to change them with.  Want to stiffen/lower a tad all round to get MV6 or better handling.  The luxobarge is quite fine but want to introduce a wee bit 'playability' without going too overboard.

A booking at WIM provisionally made with Tony to get it all set up nicely......   ;)

I'm just awaiting confirmation from MDTM on what shocks (going genuine) I need for mine, along with some Irmscher front springs I have for front.  Currently, something is fubar at front, which would explain the unpredictable front end  :'(

For yours TB, you want the sports/lowered suspension items if going genuine whih are part numbers 9192291 and 9192292 I think.

For H21's, I would be looking for a spring that gets about a 30mm drop (the Irmscher oens are exactly this but now like rocking horse muck) plus a set of standard Bilsteins (www.balancemotorsport.co.uk).

Good that confirms my numbers. Any clues as to what springs to use with those? Guessing kyb? If so Do they match genuine customer mv6 springs ride quality? Prety please.

Got plod suspension at the moment as an experiment. Too firm, want same as Kevins.

I'm going to be using Irmscher front springs (as I've had a set in the garage for ages ::))
