My Aunti's from New York, she came over for a few weeks not long back. I gave her a lift & she was impressed with my Omega & she said "what is it?" I told her & also mentioned that America has the Cadillac Catera which is the same. So you're not the only one.

Not seen that many .. but in the Tarn Gorge last year a french guy came up to us and asked if it was an opel .. then pointed across and he had a very battered prefacelift.
This year in Normandy I was filling up with GPL (LPG) when an omega pulled in at the "gasoil" (diesel) pump and the french guy was very interested in the conversion. luckily they both spoke good english as my french is no where near discussing car innards levels !!

Seen a few in Europe... but I think that the Omegas peaked in Europe around the mid-nineties, and most of these cars will be off the road now - it it usually the smaller and simpler to maintain cars that last longer.
In fact the vast majority of Omegas I saw were pre-facelift, can't remember when I saw a post-2000 one... I don't think they sold many Omegas in Europe after the turn of the century.

I go to Germany three or four times a year (at least I did when I had a job >:() and the fella I used to see there tells me that Opels and Fords are held in the same regards that we used to hold for Skodas. He reckons nobody would buy either if they could get a VW or similar for the same money.

Ha ha ha had to laugh, what do you mean "used to" skoda today is 10 times worse than they where when the less enlightened people joked about them. They where reliable, rear wheel drive basic cheap cars. Now they are cheap vw's with expensive running costs, and unreliable. ;D
