While having mu annual phone around for car insurance, currently have a Multi-car policy with Admiral, I phoned Direct Line.
Asked the usual questions, (Guy's House Invasion seems to be costing me dear - they don't like 6 points :() and was asked about modifications. If I was to fit a set of facelift alloys to my car ...... which I obviously haven't ::) ::) ::) .... it would load my premium by £150 :o :o :o

Try MoreThan insurance. I got a great deal for two cars from them this year, on separate policies.
I use one for day to day use and the Omega for occasional use. So I had limited mileige on both, which brings the price down a bit.

I'm sure many of you will have seen this but if you do follow all the steps most people will save.

He says right at the end, that he brought the premium down even further by opting NOT to have a courtesy car. I haven't found a company yet who will discount for giving up their 'free' courtsy car. All these 'free' add ons all have a cost to someone which generally means that me & thee are paying for it some where along the line. :-/ :-/ :-/

I've been using http://www.quotelinedirect.co.uk/ for a few years now, nobody else seems to be able to match them for me.
It's the dodgy BL postcode that does it Andy. ;D

Guess its the type of car too, cause when i insured the new beemer bike its twice the power, twice the cc, twice the value, yet only £8 a month more :-?
Bet if i got a Yam R1 insurance would be more than £350 ;D

To a degree I suppose, but I'm 47 for Christ's sake with 11 yrs no claims - and just 3 points showing on my licence, which I've had for 30 yrs :-?
-
Yea Andy yours is very high mate didnt think Bury was a high risk area I mean I realise Manch & surrounding areas get hammered but thought you would be far enough away from big city crime , evidentaly not! I know parts of Leeds differ my premium £100 in some cases so it does matter does the post code :'(
-
Best mate as a 06 Astra only 1.4 but his premium is only £170 ish with Saga have to admit he's like me
no NCD cover
no legal cover
no tow
No nothing you get the picture !
and odd other nonesense items they want us to adopt as the norm as I feel like covering NCD is like reinsuring the car again, which is daft to me anyway. :y

But it's usually like talking to the cat trying to get through to these call centre workers that these so clled free add-ons all have a cost & I don't want them. Why would I need a courtesy car when there's 3 cars & a bike in the house? :-/
-
