Think I'm gonna save up for one of these.

And cause they're from down-under the steering wheels on the right side to. :P ;D :y
-
its just a Holden, that will never be sold here.
-
It's a Vectra C IIRC
-
Yeah but i'll find out how much to import 1 or 2 :D
-
have you seen the interiors? they are horrid. Best off with a European Omega
-
Very Omegaish with a modern twist.

If you can get a container shipped from Hong Kong for about £1000 at the moment then can't be much more for Oz and it'll fit more than one in so several people could get together and share the costs. :)
-
I like it a lot :y
-
Isnt that what the VXR8 is based on?
-
The Monaro was lso Australian and they sold that here.

Yes but that had a market, the above is just another booring saloon. They only bring the big V8 holdens over Monaro / VXR8. A branded 'Omega' won't ever be brought over here.
-
Oh I dunno,if they see there is an Omega forum with thousands of members they might consider it. ;) ;D
-
There's been an 'Omega' in the Holden range for a few years now, usually a retrimmed Commodore. ;)

That's absolutely right - Holden have used the 'Omega' name on a few Commodore models over the years.
I was lucky enough to drive the previous model Commodore around eastern Oz for a long time for many, many happy miles on all sorts of roads (based on the Omega B with a few mods & improved safety, but bigger engines) - smashing car & very comfy & reliable. :y :y
They are marketed as large family cars down there rather than executives, hence the different interior styling to the European Omega - I prefer them, but that's just me.
Back on 2006 when I had my Commodore, it was the best selling car in Oz..... says a lot of good things about the Omega-B design. :y The latest ones are homegrown Australian. :) I'd have another at the drop of a hat (if I had the $$$$) :D

I really like it! & the interior looks pretty good too :y :y :y
-
RWD???? £1000 for a container? Where`s that piggy bank?.............
-
I quite like it, but for a minute or so I thought it was a VW (passat?) from the outside, plus all that blue inside def vw ish
-
not really sure about this ???? like the outside but not sure about the interior, if i had the money and the choice think/know i would go for the monaro
-
This looks like a "generic" car like they use on insurance or breakdown tv ads!! A bit of old Vectra, old Mondeo and so on, with a nasty plastic-bonanza Vectra interior.
Nothing like the subtle class of our old boats!!
The best replacement for an Omega is the new Skoda Superb. No really. It was won countless awards and the fit and finish now waps Vauxhall. Yes I know its a FWD...(!!)
Auto Express has run a saloon as a long termer and adore it-they have just given the newly launched estate the coveted five star rating (not many cars reviewed ever get this-even the new E class estate).
If you like your Omega, go and drive a Superb TDI 170CR Elegance with the DSG box and be amazed-it is along the same lines but bang up to date.
There's no need for any "I would not drive.... etc" this is a magnificent car and will shock anyone not knowledgable about modern Skodas.
Not sure how the complex Audi/VW mechanincals will last out, but they are all still under warranty! Skoda wins the customer satisfaction tables a lot-manufacturer of the yer this year.
Please no vitriolic comments about insulting the Omega-not intended!! I've driven loads of execs and had a new Superb on demo for a while-I would buy one today if I had the money; simply a fantastic car and reminds me how dated my Omega is now.... :y and far on it is from the "new" one on this thread :y :y
Google Superb estate for pics..
