Unless someoen's fitted one before you owned the car ;)
The best way is to wait for a wet day (shouldn't have to wait long) Stop & then boot it in a staight line, if it snakes from side to side you have one if you get even skid marks you don't have one. My old Trans-Am's had them & they were sooo easy to snake :D :D

surely its better to not have LSD then?
would Traction Control need to be off for it to work?
is the TC on when the light is on dash or off?

Depends what type of LSD you have, though. Some are more subtle and will just leave a number 11 on the tarmac. Without an LSD you will often just spin one wheel. Best way is to do as you suggest but on full lock, with plenty of space, and see if the car rotates around the front inside wheel or just drives in a circle with the inside rear wheel on fire. ;)

Pull driveshafts out of diff - if you can see a X then you got LSD. :y

Switch TC off, boot it from rest so wheels spin - number 11 = LSD :y

Fishtailing in the wet only tells you that the rear end is loose...........

IIRC, could be specced when ordered new.

I've just remembered that Pontiac's have a ali tag on the diff with a serial #. You could cross reference to see if the car has a LSD. Vauxhall/Opel are GM so maybe :-/ :-/ Have a look :)
