Silly question, but is it at all possible to purchase off the shelf metal brake lines?
Do they come prefab or do they have to be made by hand to be replaced?
-
If you take them off and take them to Vauxhall they will make you an identical set. However with a £15 bell flange kit you can make your own quite easily :y

SO would you say £150/200 is a bit pricey or a fair deal for someone to replace and make them?
Where do you get a bell flange kit?
-
A cheap brake pipe flaring tool will set you back about £20 but it is difficult to get a good result. I ended up cutting off and remaking half the ones I made when restoring my Range Rover.
I now have a cam/lever action tool (cost about £100) which is much easier to use.
To make a really neat job it is worth getting some pipe bending pliers (another £20)
Unless you have a 4 post lift or like crawling around under your car it probably is worth paying to have the pipes replaced at the garage once you factor in the cost of the tools.
