Title: Tyres
Post by: Del Boy on 30 October 2009, 20:57:53
Saab is just above legal limit on the front two tyres, brand spankers on the back, it has contiental sport conti 3 (I think thats right) tyres on it at the mo. Anyone know the cheapest place for these want an all matching set but even on ebay for 2 they're £201 and I'm not paying that.

O yeah they're 235/45/17.
TIA

Christ, maybe I'll get a different make then  ;D

Only sad thing is that they seem a grippy tyre even with WWD and 280 BHP.

You get what you paid for.

My Sylvia Turbo came with Dunlop D86 tyres from new.  I ragged the car from the start and managed to make the inside of the tyre 100% bald whilst the outside looked 100% new  (dropping th clutch at 7k in 1st or 2nd helpd (NOT) them survive to 4000miles)  Nissan put me a new set of boots on and could only get Goodyear Eagles.

The Dunlops newver broke away under hard cornering, The Goodyears often broke free, thats the difference berween softer/sticky but more exspensive and harder but cheaper rubber boots.

Had this problem with my Volvo, looks like I'm going to have the same again. One's on there at the mo are still legal but will need replacing soon.

You have a great and lovely car there Del, and all I say is what I always say to myself; on such a car, and in indeed any car, you need nothing but the best no matter how much they are :y :y

I am well used to paying over £100 per corner, and believe for the safety they give you, the comfortable ride, and the mileage you will get out of them, it is worth every penny! ;) ;)
