That Vauxhall putting the 3.0 diesel engine in the omega would've been a good move? I was thinking earlier whilst reading on the Saab forums, the 3.0 is a Vx engine according to the guys on there (pretty sure it is too), why didn't they put this in would've made a lot of sense don't you think.
-
If they had of put the V8 6.0 from monaro in it that would have made sense!

Yeah, but Vx are big Isuzu users so I just say Vx ;D
It's got good power, sort of reliable and I think would've made perfect sense for a big exec car like the Mig. Robsey thats a better idea mate :y
-
I'm not sure how reliable it is, I really don't know much about the engine. However, The Metropolitan Police service operate as part of thier fleet 3.0 V6 CDTI Vectra's. And the amount that came through auction one time as non runners with engine issues was unbelievable. Of course you can get that with all cars, but it was obvious there was something wrong. There were 4 a month for 3 months or so all coming through as non runners. And there is no other vehicle I've seen with that frequency come through as non runners.

Still love the mig mate as i think you get alot of car for the money, althought monaro is the toy to have, sadly got it wrong time of year as 590nm of output to rear wheels is way to much to hold on the roads in this weather :(
very load wortec runing gear fitted and is kicking out just under the 500 BHP mark.

clear roads yes. Has a LSD as you may know so can lose the car very easy.
So might you get one?
guess this is a bit off topic now?

Just a tad, do like the Monaro's a lot, fancy a Range Rover or a 5 series BM now to be honest, quite interested in the VXR 8's though as you can get one for sub 20k now, will have to conside one defiantely :)

IMHO, it depends how deep you want to go into things...
The 3.0V6 is a decent lump (from what I've heard).
But, would it ever have come about if the Omega was still in production?
It's a modern lump for a modern world, where the powers that be (for now - hopefully!!) are trying to push us into eco-wagons by daft taxation. And the car-makers are trying to pander to this, by producing said engines.
I was about to go into a significant rant, hinging on climate change propogander and the relative taxtion benefits, but I won't!
Long story short - nice engine, but shame about it's development reasoning.
Petrol (in retaliation) all the way for me.
