I have recently had a new exhaust fitted and it seems to have a droning noise at about 45mph in top, is this normal, I was wondering if the exhaust was fouling something, although it goes away as your speed increases. can anyone enlighten me.

What make have you had fitted? I don't really rate Walkers & Bosal aftermarket stuff, they don't even last very long either.

Heard that about Walkers before, but our lass's has a full Walkers, and been fine for the last two years.
Maybe it's down to how well it's been fitted?

My MV6 has a bit of a drone, but that's cos there's a slight leak somewhere - summat to do with narrow road, big tractor and me having to learn rallycross pretty quickly! ::)

any pattern is going to sound shite compared to original (not recent) GM. GM of few years back (at least 4) were doubled walled unlike all patterns.

And the definition of that is....................?
I would say any ska or country & western music would "sound shite", yet plenty of others would disagree.
;D ;D ;D
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, dude. ;)

The 'drone' as raised, general noise and speed compared to the silence of older GM ones.
Get it with mother tunnies estate, crusing along, there is a drone / humm from the engine on the motorway. It gets annoying at times

Yes it is a pattern, dont know what make, I will get it checked but it sounds like i will have to live with it.
Thanks all.

Hi all - just a thought..
I've also read on here somewhere that if the tailpipe is not quite clear of the rear bumper far enough - you will get a 'buzz/drone !' from the rear bumper vibrating ? Does it have a 'chrome' tip on it that clears the rear bumper lip ?
Cheers
Ian

Ther is no chrome tip on the pipe and it does seem to finish close to the rear bumper, I will check tonorrow just where it finishes, maybe an exhaust trim would help by extending it.

Could be touching something under the car, maybe a hanger etc....
