Yes it's not a 2.8 Brooklands only a Laser & despite being an old Ford fan it's not that old & on the underneath shots the springs have been schultzed/undersealed & no i would'nt pay half the asking price but try to put aside what it is, ignore the over optimistic asking price & just look at the under bonnet shots....get your valet gear out folks!!!! 8-)

My first car was a Capri 1.6, i loved it to pieces and have really fond memories of it, i ended up owning several over my car career so far :)

Dont think i would want to own one now though, would ruin the vision i have of being a great car, although i might be tempted by a 3.0 one  8-)

Beautiful condition, pity it's only a Pinto under the bonnet.  :y

It might be a Concourse car but it's modern and surly not worth that much.... ::)

What am I thinking, modern, it is 25 years old, makes me feel, well er, very old...... :'(

I had a Capri Calypso, 1600 cc's of pure power. Yeah right ;D.

Drove all the way from Hemel to Canvey Island to get it too. Dad drove it home as my insurance didn't start till the Monday. Spent HOURS cleaning it Saturday and Sunday and most nights of the week too, it was spotless, not as spotless as that one, but spotless non the less.

Thing is, I hated it. Changed from a mk 1 Astra to this, the Astra was (much) more modern, faster, handled a million times better and my insurance company wanted and extra £80 for 3 months cover.

Saturday after I brought it i was driving somewhere and some bloke in his 2 week old Metro pulled out on me. I t-boned him writing off both cars. Everyone walked away unscathed, and i walked away with a cheque for £850 from my ins company, not bad seeing i only paid £425 for it 7 days earlier! Apparently the assesor(?) commented on how tidy it was. I even kept the car and sold it to a college mate for £100. Wonder if he ever got it fixed up?

The spare wheel is quoted as being original,so it will need to be replaced then ::)
Where's the rest of the engine? oh yes I remember now you had that much space as you were always stood in there fixing it :D

It's not original, it's a full engine out resto, the underneath was never white from new & the springs/axle etc looks handbrushed to me. A good car & a healthy 2.0 pinto pulls well enough but £1200/£1500 is more realistic to an enthusiast. ::)

i used to love the capri. be cool if ford decided to do an up to date, chunky/beefed up modern looking one.
Hard to explain, but the vision i have in my head would sell loads!!! ;D ;D

wouldnt be anything similar to what Ford did with their recent homage to the classic 60s "bullit" mustang would it? ;D

My dad bought me a 2.8i capri for my 21st birthday,i hated it at 1st as i had to drive around with bags of sand in the boot so it would hold the road. Then decided to spend a bit of money on it so i had racing springs and shockers put on it (lowered ) full RGA bodykit , pepperpot alloys and new tyers, she looked great and handled like she was on rails (without the sand in the boot ) Ace car, would love another one but would have to be a Brooklands or Tickford, Dont want much do i  ;D

Makes this seem under priced ::) ::)

Still don't see what the fuss is all about? I'll try and scan a picture of my old one, after the Metro T-bone incident ;D ;D
