Title: Paperclip test on an Astra 2.0 Auto Ecotec P-reg
Post by: SJKOO01 on 17 February 2010, 18:40:42
Does anyone know if it's possible to use the paperclip test on a P-reg 2.0 Automatic Ecotec Astra.

Went to use my OBDII/EOBD code reader on my mates car, and found it isn't the same plug !.

His engine management light has come on, it runs okay, and no problems starting the car, I'm suspecting the O2 sensor is at fault ?.

And is it possible to get code readers for the older vauxhalls these days ?.

Cheers.

paperclip test works on these you just have to short out different pins (as its not the obd2 style connector0

Cheers for that Mark.

Bit cheeky I know to ask of you, but do you know which two pins would need to be shorted.  And I'm assuming that it the same kind of thing, you count the light or sounds or something, etc.
