Title: Scrap yards...
Post by: steblackwell on 21 February 2010, 13:54:59
After quite a few bits for 3 different omegas (all pre) and wondering if anyone knows anywhere they are scrap yards that have a lot of omega in them.. (around here theres a few french scrappies so that kind of thing)

Or if anyone knows where i could find cheap items;
1 x Pair of Projectors
1 x Middle Brake Light (Saloon)
1 x Electric mirror button with led for heated mirrors
2 x Spare tyres (or atleast rims)
1 x Plastic Grill
1 x Air Con Rad
1 x Blind Motor
2 x Auto Dip Mirror
1 x Rear right estate light cluster
1 x Estate rear bumper plastic
1 x Silver bit on saloon bumper (just 2 corners)
1 x Aircon Pump

So many bits for 3 omegas
Cheers steve.

Maybe cockney rhyming slang for MILTON KEYNES.
I dunno, just a guess.

Its basically a field full of all kinds of cars, couple of weeks ago there was pre-facelift reflection and facelift 2.2 taxi in there.

Wheels are removed, and stacked elseware, so they are bottomed out, take wellies as its very muddy and ground has oils all over the place.

Take your own tools, remove the parts yourself, pay on exit at the office.  :y

that type off old skool scrapy is fast becoming dead due to eu regulations and effing safty. wont belong untill the council dogooders go interfering and ruin a good thing.

Got a few near me, a couple you can walk in help your self pay and leave, the other one you have to check in at the office sign in (but not out) and a big sign by the gate " No tool box and no bags" in English and Polish.

Canal road next to council tip, but dont tell every one as they will all be down their. Last time I looked they had a 2.5 CD estate in green 90% compleat and 2 saloons 1 red 1 green. A few things i've had were an ICV for £4 2 mid displays I think £5 each and a job lot of 3 rear head rests with fixing kit, rear center seatbelt, spare wheel with a new tyre, boot carpet, rear reading lights, both front sunvisors with illuminated mirrors and the lid off the cenrer console £30 the lot.

That as they say is a good result  :y
Pity the scrappies round here are not stocked with anything nearly as useful or cheapl  :(

near york there is a scrappy (also one near edinburgh) sell complete cars which your allowed 7 hours to completely dismantle. your not able to take the engine or gearbox out, a member of staff takes it out and for that service you pay an extra £40. the car you buy will be moved into a hangar with plenty of room to work on it. york depot today has i think 4 miggys in. scotland depot has a few. there is a graveyard that your allowed to take anything off any car at a fixed price  there is literally well over a 1000 cars in this area & 2 weeks ago 4 migs were in that section. the company,s called u-pull-it. well worth looking at their web site :y
