A 1976 Morris Marina 1.3 Super ;D
Not sure what was super about it :-/
-
Not sure this even qualifies as a car but - Reliant van, just like Del Boy's, only beige.
Horrible piece of cr4p, but I could drive it on my full bike license and it got me through my driving test first go.
First 'real' car? Mini.

Austin Allegro without the quartic steering wheel
-
93 vauxhall nova sr back in 2001

Mini 1000 when I was about seven years old.
First car to drive was a 1974/M Mini 1000 with 2up 2down rally giant spots, 6x10 Weller Wheels, wooden dash, rev counter and blacked out rear lights. Finished in a rather fetching shade of Harvest Gold (just on the wrong side of light shi**y brown).
I loved that car, used to change the engine tie bar mounts almost weekly, even bent the SU carb jet by bashing it against the bulkhead when accelerating. Cost me £11 to fill to the brim.
Those were the days!!!!!
-
A 1972 orange Mini Clubman.Then I added 1 bucket seat,a tiny steering wheel,spotlamps,huge carb,fat exhaust and white 8 spokes......I was Billy Big Potatoes in my youth! ;D ;D ;D

1982 Ford Fiesta 1.1L reg no.VRC 234Y Rosso red it was my Grandads when I inherited it in 1989 with 17,000 genuine miles on it.He was the first owner and never took it out when it was dark, raining, snowy or foggy. In town he never went over 30 and out of town he never went over 40.He would stop at every roundabout and apply the hanbrake even when it was clear for miles around! We used to live in Nottingham and it took 4 hours for us to get to Skegness due to his crap driving and stopping off half way for lunch.I had it for three months and put about 3,500 miles on it and thrashed it to within an inch of its life before trading it in for a brand new 5 door fiesta in August 1989.My Grandad had passed away so thats how I inherited it.Not long after getting the keys I had a look in the boot and there were still the steel trim inserts that went on the outer rim for all four wheels still bagged up individualy from the dealer 7 years earlier.

My first car was a 1972 LJ Torana.. 6 pack with 4 speed manual.. Was a little beast of a thing and really beautiful to drive.
Since leaving home my dad has decided to turn it into a drag car, he has supercharged and done a few other bits and bobs to it now.. :D
This is the best pic I could find, doesn't give away how nice the shape is though :(

It could have been a Lada Riva or Lada Cossck and don't forget the Yugo Zastava! so it's not that bad.
-
At least it is only your first car... you should see how many I see drive past here. and its their only car!!!
(Not sure what is the exact name of that model here, but if it is what I am thinking of, they are going for northwards of 1000 euro for a good model now.. )
-
A 1971 Volkswagen beetle.
I saw it around 6 years ago in Staffordshire, it looked absolutely immaculate.
It was parked up in a garden centre car park.
I waited around for a while to talk to the owner, but couldn't wait any longer and left, shame.

A T-reg Mini 1000 in 'sandglow' colour, put the usual rubbish on it like chrome bullbars and 2-up, 2-down Rally Giants, as mentioned by someone earlier. Polished it every other weekend though, looked after that car

A 2 tone ford Anglia 109E in a pale metalic grey with an equally nasty silvery blue ,back in 1975.I think from memory I paid £100 for it which was a huge sum as I only earnt £18=00 a week.
Great fun and remember 2 of use pulling out the engine on a large bit of rope when a big end bearing went and rebuilding it in the kitchen...oh the good old days.

If you read the blurb with it, the cam belt has been recently done but, 'still runs on its original Good Year Grand Prix S tyres' :o :o :o :o
There are forum members younger than those tyres! :o :o
Surely he means that it's running on Good Year Grand Prix S like it was when it was new, not that it's still on its originals ..... :-/ :-/ :-/

Bought in 1963 a 1958 Ford Popular E93A - 1172cc side valve with optional heater and water pump!! That car travelled all over the country from Lands End to John o Groats (actually). Eventually was souped up (high comp head, twin SUs, gas flowed manifolding with straight through system, uprated g/box, LMB suspension mods and wide Zodiac wheels - used as road and rally car!!
Used to "commute" from home (near Gatwick) to Manchester Uni.
-
The memory is dimming, but I think it was a Renault 4 maybe a 1963-64 750cc. Had a bench seat and the famous frog dash gearchange - not too bad as that model only had 3!
Despite the 6V electrics and only being used for a station run, it would start first turn, summer and winter. Did something like 5 million miles to the gallon :D
Gave it up for a Morris Traveller with more room for surf boards.
Accidently bought it again 5 years later (in the dark) without knowing..... despite it being the other end of the country! :o
-
my first car was a 1986 xr3i that used to cut out everytime i saw a police car! something to do with no tax insurance or mot but that was when you could get away with that!
-
1961 Ford Consul 375 Lowline back in 1975. Wish I still had it.

my first car was a surprising skoda estelle 105s 8-)

my first car was a surprising skoda estelle 105s 8-)
I learnt my (previous) trade on Skoda's, at a dealership in Hemel Hempstead (Cawdells, should anyone know it)
Must admit I thought they were hugely underated motors. Yes they were old fashioned, yes the gearchange was about the same as stirring a spoon in treacle and the interior design left a lot to be desired, but you never saw a rusty one. The only reason these disappeared was because they weren't worth anything when things went wrong. In 4 years I never knew one to have terminal rust.
The 130's suffered with headgaskets going (and cylinder liners) and they all were a royal PITA to do a clutch on (engine out job), but I still liked them and wouldn't say no to one nowadays just as a bit of fun! Just never see them :(
-
Hi, yes it was a fun car, Id hadith a fortnight and decided spur of the moment to go to the highlands in Scotland for a drive. Not far from Wrexham to the highlands lol. Got there and back no problem. I ended up pxing my skids for a new lada riva 1.2 as the drive shafts went on my skoda.
