Title: It's been a good day.
Post by: Amigo on 07 March 2010, 17:51:12
The Beasties missfire is sorted. New plugs, leads & coilpack & she's purring like a kitten again...or spitting & snarling when she sees a scooby!!! Thanks to Darth Lorraine Kelly for the coilpack link & to MM who supplied plugs & leads, came out & put it all together. I'd be knackered without folk like you. :y
MM's new Mrs cut my hair after which i gave the Beastie a much over due handwax. She's now showing off looking resplendant in the last of the sun.
The Consul's coming along well & lamb is in the oven!!!! 8-)

Hello mate. The whole car is in primer & Boxing day's damage to the rear quarter has been beaten out & filled to get the shape back. (cost me £150 on top but that was cheap, he's good) If i ever get hold of the guilty party i promise to excercise restraint & have a quiet word in his shell like just so he understands my point of view!!!! ::) >:(
Anyway the primer has been taken back by countless grades of disc, all 4 doors are off & being prepped & i've just spent £170 on paint...they still have a code for Ming Yellow... !! & panel wipe etc. We'll spray the car shuts, door shuts, fit the doors then spray the outside all in one. The roof is old english white & will come up fine with a machine polish & handwax, the red & white milkshake bar leather needs a clean & treatment & i've still got piles of chrome to auto sol before refitting. Still looking for gear change bushes (column change) but she's mot'd till November & has a new year's free tax, ins is £101!!!!. Might have to cough up for tyres as i've got a set of 70's Wolfrace alloys to fit, 5 studs. Sorry for the yarn but you did ask. I've been resisting posting pics on here as not everyone is interested so will wait till done & post a few from start to finish. 3 or 4 weeks now. Guy. 8-)

Not yet but i wiil look into uprading when all done. Classics do go missing & are easy to pinch, sadly if they don't get shipped abroad they get broken which is heartbreaking after all the love & money over 49 years has been put in to keep her going.
I did take out an agreed value policy on my 1982 Landy when i had a full galv chasis fitted, still going strong in Sheffield bought by a retired prison officer. :y
