Title: trade card
Post by: chalcroft on 22 March 2010, 09:47:21
Forgive me but still new on here. What is the vauxhall trade card and how do you get one? I need to replace front discs and pads plus the rear shocks in the not to distant future. Funds are tight at the moment following yet another redundancy so any way of saving some money greatly appreciated.

About Trade Club
Vauxhall cars are built to the highest standards, and the only way to ensure you maintain those standards on behalf of your customers is to fit genuine parts.

Vauxhall Trade Club was launched 16 years ago. Since then it's gone from strength to strength becoming the market leader all manufacturers follow. The concept of genuine parts at competitive prices should sound attractive – but don’t take our word for it:

“Trade Club has grown to such an extent that the term ‘Trade Club’ has become the generic description for vehicle manufacturer parts programmes designed for the independent aftermarket.”

Source – Sewells Aftersales Management

Backed by Vauxhall’s 12 month, unlimited mileage guarantee and a support network of over 400 outlets nationwide, peace of mind is always at the forefront of our thinking.

The parts market is getting more aggressive all the time and Vauxhall will continue to be at the forefront of its development, ensuring you get the best product, support and price.

The Book now has more products and a greater range of parts than ever before. It shows the retail, trade and Trade Club price for each Trade Club promoted part. All this information is also now here on our website – once you've logged in you can access this via The Book Online link.

The next time you’re repairing a Vauxhall – Look in the Book

If you join Autobahnstormers, your membership card entitles you to Trade Club prices, about £20 per year. You do have to be a little 'forthright' at some dealers though.  :y

Join Autobahnstormers for £20 per year and you get one. There is another club you can join but I forget the name of it.

Not sure if discs, pads and shocks are on trade club though? You would need to check. :y

EDIT: Damn it not fast enough again! ;D

Hi

Interesting thread, I've downloaded the application form for Autobahnstormers ready to send off.

Is there a definitive list of items covered by the trade card or is it vauxhall dealer discretion?

TIA
 :)

It's most service items, sensors, radiators, hoses, water pumps etc, but they're all listed on the Trade Club site for all cars.  ;)

:y :y So well worth getting one for 20 notes. I know when entwood helped me out with a few items recently we used his card and I think it paid for itself immediately.

It pays for itself as soon as you buy 4 x 5 litres of oil.  ;)

Hmmm... I use Andy for parts most of the time and he really does his best to give the prices you'd prefer to hear :y. Mind you, he's only 50 miles from me so not exactly a pain to collect parts :y :y
