Hi all does anyone know how to convert rear drums to discs
-
on what?
-
on a astra
-
easiest way would be with a donor vehicle on hand for all the parts required and you may also need the master cylinder as well
-
donor vehicle is best way.
complete system change is the only option unless you happen to be a brake designer ;)
make sure you have the rear pressure-limiting valves, too otherwise you'll have agoodly dose of rear-end lock-up / swapping ends action to cope with.
-
agreed.. done it in the past.. a complete rear system is the way to go..
also I must note the rear brakes will work fully only if there is enough weight otherwise they will work %50 ( I assume also Astras have some brake pressure limitor on the rear)

What are you hoping to achieve? The disc/drum set up on my Astra works fine as did the same set up on the Astra SWMBO had written off.
I can see you needing 5 stud wheels too after your conversion ::) ::)
