Had a few issues with one of the gearbox oil cooler union bolts recently, basically I was an over-eager spanner monkey and threaded the bolt and the rad (cheers to DLK for the replacement by the way)
Called the stealers, union bolt not in stock and will have to pre order. No probs. 2 hours later I get phone call; they only come in packs of 4! Plus they dont know if they can get them!
Why oh why sell an item, of which there are only 2 on any omega, in packs of 4? >:( >:(

It does begger belief I must admit but I'm sure that convenience, blind adherence to protocol, laziness, stupidity and the desire for profit at all costs must figure in this somewhere.
The ability of people to make decisions independent of those dictated by a computer screen/company policy/custom and practice seems to recede at an alarming rate. :(
It's unsurprising to me as this country appears to have been sidelined by the motley legion of those who couldn't give a toss/don't have the brains to.
Nice to see you on again G 8-) 8-) :y

Thats not Vx....thats the dealer trying to pass the extra stock onto you by default.
-
Can you not 'borrow' a few from the RLC stores or REME on a long term loan? Preferably without a signature on a 1033 ;D ;D
For those not in the know a 1033 is the form that storemen get you to sign your life away on when you are in green kit.

Looks like I'll be paying a visit to the parts manager again, been a while since I bothered him last.
Zulu, thanks mate but I'm not hanging around. I have my reasons :y

Guffer, are you after the two bolts that hold the oil cooler pipes onto the Radiator? If so I can send you a couple down mate no problem :-* :-*

That would be great, let me know how much you want for it plus postage and I'll PM my address :y

He told me square-faced that 4 is the minimum order, if anyone with any internal Vx knowledge can tell me otherwise I will confront the parts manager (again!)

Most bolts are C Class and thus wouldn't get signed over on a 1033, besides LR and Vx parts are not interchangable. ;)
If you want to talk about signing your life away how about having £7m of kit on your flick! :'(

Ok, according to EPC there are two different banjo bolts
Outlet from rad Cooler (Top) 11071901. At this moment in time this part number is on back order, eg Luton have no stock.
This is also listed as a qty issue partm of 4 which means if we, the dealer, order one then VXM will send 4, don't ask why thats just how vxm package things.
This isn't just a GM thing either you will find all manufractures do the same thing.
This now brings us on to the dealer telling you that you would have to take 4 of them. This is down to the dealer depending what there obsolet policy is.
Most Obsolete policies it would mean that after six months of non movement the dealer will have to pay a % of that part from his departments bottom line and then each month thats gets bigger and bigger unit about 18 months of non movment it then gets binned
So the dealer has to buy 4 screws and sells two, he then sits on the others for upto 18 months and then bins them which means those four screws could end up costing him four time as much money in the long run, thats why he want you to take all four .
Now what i try to do with the different clubs and forums i deal with is not to say you have to take the issue qty but to only sell you what you want because at the end of the day if i offer you guys a good service i know you'll come back to buy from me so i stand less chance of getting stuck with dead stock.
Ob stock in the UK is dealt with in a different way to the dealers in Europe mainly down to space. We only have one warehouse in the UK which means vauxhall's don't keep alot of slow moving and old stuff as they just don't have the room.
So thats still as clear as mud but as a brief outline we, the dealers don't stop paying for a part until its sold so if we buy qty issue parts and know we will get stuck with some parts it will cost us money.
All i can say is that if you want something then give us a call and i'll see what i can do for you.
Oh as i said at the start EPC list two different banjo bolts,
Top outlet from the rad 11071901
Bottom inlet to the rad 11064663 (these are in stock)
EPC doesn't list any difference but they may be the reason you had a problem with re-fitting the bolts
All the best
Andy

4 is the minimum order but, they could (and many would) sell you 2 and put the other 2 into stock

If it's the stealer I think it is it's a PITA just to get them to recognise an AutoBahnStormers card... Off to get the manager every time. >:(
