Title: Remote turbo?
Post by: Squidy on 08 July 2010, 10:45:12
has anyone fitted or looked into fitting a remote turbo to their mig? i'm looking into it because it will be far easier than fitting a turbo conventionally plus i think a set of 3.0 cams should handle the extra low pressure boost with between 20%-30%hp gain

Turbo's have been discussed before and due to an already high-compression ratio they don't give much extra.

3.0 cams are best option for beefing up 2.5 performance giving another 15-20 Bhp  :y

Someone more in the know can comment on exactly why turbo's are not much use in the Omega, but best off with just cams, straight forward and good results  :y

Your biggest challenge is the high compression ratio on the Omega (about 10.8:1 on yours).

Your best option for a turbo project would eb a 2.6 (as its lower compression anyway) with 3.0 heads (which lower the compression further)
