Stripped all 4 door cards off today,to remove door handles, and would really like to remove the coating on the door cards,as its scratched anyway, but does anyone know a quick and easy way to remove it,thought about thinners which should dissolve it,but dont want to destroy em,oh and by the way, there is 2 coats of the stuff on it,dont know if anyone else has realised this. :-/

You would think it would simply peel off, "Scotch Brite" scouring pads worked OK but hard going. I would consider wet'n'dry too, any scratches can be got rid of with a finer grade. I would test out the thinners on a bit you won't see first though. I assume you will be painting them.

I just want to get rid of it altogether,as underneath is a nice shiny surface,so for the life of me,i cant understand why they coated it. :-/

Update on this one whos considering doing this.Thinners works a treat on this stuff, but use the normal cellulose thinners from halfrauds, and not the stronger stuff.Comes up a treat, but use silicon spray on it after or tesco dash shine for a quid(brilliant ) beleive it or not ::).There is also 2 layers, the top soft coat, and underneath is black which will need removing, but turns grey again after. :y
