Title: Project TB3 goes WIMing
Post by: TheBoy on 06 August 2010, 21:53:28
Despite almost daily squirts of WD40 on the front and rear track rods for past few days, the rears were still seized solid, and despite best efforts, they couldn't be moved - fortunately, the rear is only fractionally out.

OSF camber was well out, as was the front castor.  WIM soon sorted that.

Front Toe, knackered by moving camber and castor was soon sorted, despite the front track rods fighting back, and shearing a bolt.

Result?  Well, it still has Elite wallowy suspension, only springs and shocks will sort that, but much more predictable in the corners, much to Mrs TheBoy's annoyance ::)

Thanks again to Tony at Wheels in Motion for managing to squeeze me in at short notice, for his magic worked on the car, and for explaining the issues...  :y

I'm very surprised at especially you for using WD40 as a penetrating oil  :-?  :-?  :-?  :-? I'd have thought you'd have been able to get hold of a can of Plusgas  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  :y

With the current state of my garage, I was lucky to find a can (well, 2 cans) of that!

WD40 isn't great, but generally ok if left to soak in. Plusgas is better, ime, for "I need this undone now"
