Title: insurance problems
Post by: colv6 on 10 August 2010, 12:12:23
i picked up the elite on saturday, with the intention of giving it to my father, he currently runs a nissan laurel (now on its last legs) on a classic car policy cost of £210.00 per year.

i rang his insurance footman james because the elite is not old enough for a classic policy they will cancel his current policy and renew on the elite at £900.00 !!!!!!!

after looking at moneysuper market and saga etc etc the best i can get is £700.00 because of his age 76, if i insure it and name him its the same price again because of his age, driving licence for over 50 years, over 20 years no claims and 50 years as a member of the IAM.

are there any senior drivers on here and if so where do you get your cover from??

Hi
If he's a member of the IAM why not go to them, IAM Select aka Adelaid Insurance.  I pay £124 fully comp, admittedly I'm only 70 not 79.
