I've been travelling from Mold in North Wales to Ramsbottom in lancashire and back each day at a distance of 64 miles each way doing 65 mph and with ECO switched on and i'm getting upto 38.1 mpg???? surely this cant be right for a 2.6 V6 does the computer need re-calibrating? I'm not complaining at this figure as I think its good...

I went to Dorset the other day at approx 80mph and my 2.6 was showing an average of 31mpg, dont think so some how, i am a bit sceptic when it comes to these on board computors
-
So what kind of MPG where you expecting to see with mileage you where doing?
-
3.0 V6
44.8MPG 60 mile trip, manchester to blackpool (without cruise). I drove like the manager of mattress company though.

Bloody hell that brilliant MPG for a V6 Miggy....

I worked out around 53 - 54MPH was the best (someone may correct me) when it had just gone in to 4th gear (4 speed auto).
Let off the gas down hills and only feathering the throttle.
It's a tiring drive though as you really have to concentrate and read the road.
A well maintained car works well!
New sparks, oil change, air filter, correct tyre pressure and no crap in the boot.
I have also noticed Super Unleaded is a better but more expensive fuel to get more MPG! the picture was done using normal Morrisons stuff which I don't use anymore, I reckon on Shell V Power fuel it would do 47MPG.

Why not do a proper "Brim to Brim" fill and calculate the actual mpg?
I frequently see mid to high 30's from my 3.0 cruising at an indicated 80mph and have proven the MID to be accurate for petrol consumption :y :y

I echo this.
On a recent long trip which was mainly B roads, I returned over 30mpg driving like the proverbial Vicar.
I reckon I could hit 40mpg on the Motorway 'IF' I didn't have a heavy right foot...... in fact, scrap that..... I could hit 40mpg 'IF' I didn't have a right foot. ;D

I tried once to be economic, and check consumption.
filled full drove for more the 150 km at 90-100kmh
no AC almost with out stopping at the ride.
refilled, attain11.5 km/L around 46 mpg

Should add, I never turn the CC off and don't hang about getting up to said speed :y :y
