Title: Omega Attack!
Post by: Kate on 22 August 2010, 17:12:56
Hi everyone.

Got up on Saturday morning and found my omega had been keyed all the way round.  I'm devastated.

My daughter's car was done too. And sabotaged as it keeps stalling now. :'( :'( :'(

Nothing worse than mindless vandalism :(

Hope you find 'em and set to with a pair of pliers and a blowtorch!

So sorry to hear that Kate :'( :'( :'(

Mindless vandalism one assumes, unless you (or your daughter - boyfriend / girl friend trouble?) have gravely upset someone.

As for your daughters car stalling, check the rear exhaust tail pipe for any foriegn bodies placed in it, and the fuel filler cap for signs of sugar, etc.  A member on here only recently discovered sugar had been poured into his tank overnight!! :o :o

Try not to let it get you down too much, possessions are easily replaced.

I'm so very very sorry for you and your daughter kate.

Whoever did this is an un-educated..In-bred..Sub-human piece of Pond Scum  >:( >:( >:(

I hope one day they mess with the wrong person and that person does to their little rat faces exactly what they did to your cars   :y :y

If no other cars near to where yours were parked were damaged then it looks like a personal targeted attack.
People who go out to commit random vandalism rarely just do the one car and leave it at that.
Have you informed the rozzers, any CCTV nearby that may have caught them?

Thanks for your kind comments. The police weren't much help but very sympathetic. No one saw anything and no cctv anywhere.

Getting my daughters car going is my biggest problem. When you put your foot flat on the accelerator the revs just keep going up and down. There is nothing in the exhaust pipe and the petrol cap was locked and didn't look tampered with.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks!

Does sound as if the petrol has been contaminated, and the exhaust, if you put your hand over the end, when it's running, can you feel any pressure?

Without wanting you to identify your location any further, what make is the car?

I'd have a look underneath for any signs of tampering with the fuel system...

If you find that they have tampered with the brakes then I suggest that you call the police straight back.

That warrants both your cars being completely checked for fingerprints and DNA as far as I am concerned  >:(

So sorry to hear that Kate.

It's no consolation for you, but I heard today that my nephew has just had his car keyed all along it as well. He has put a sign up saying that he knows who did it and the car is now under CCTV surveillance. It won't undo the scratches or catch who did it but will make people think twice at least.

I told him to take the sign down, then put the car under real CCTV surveillance and he might catch the B*****s if they come back.

PM sent to ploppy for details of CCTV.

I'm not surprised to hear that the police aren't interested. I don't know exactly what they do. All they do seem to do is come oout and tell you everything they can't do. I think I'll bang my head off the wall next time i need them. It might be more use.

Thanks again for all your kind comments.

I called the AA out and they think the air flow meter has gone on my daughters car.  It's a strange coincidence that that happened at the same time as it being keyed.

I've ordered a cheap cctv system off ebay. I hope it works.

Sorry I haven't been on the oof for a while.  I've been ill with depression and was in hospital for a while.

Sad and upsetting news about the cars K - it beggars belief. :( :(

Hope you're over the worst concerning your health issues and the hospital stay was of some benefit. :y :y

They say these things happen in threes so hopefully yours and your Daughters car being damaged, and the maf issue, means you have had your share of bad luck for the foreseeable...

Sorry to hear about your recent ill health, I know depression is a horrible thing to have to live with after having watched my Mom struggle with it.

Good luck with the c.c.t.v. and everything else.

Thanks. I feel much better now. I've been seeing a counselor and a psychiatrist which has helped.

I think I found out who keyed the cars.  My neighbours have been acting really guilty so it looks like it was them.

Glad to hear you're feeling a little better kate .......i've been down the depression road, after my heart attack and it isnt nice; but be assured there IS light at the end of the tunnel :y
As for yer neighbours, thats so bad if it is them >:( - tell 'em you're reporting it to the police - maybe a 'guilt trip' would get them to own up.  :y
