The EGR is a common fault - try the above site for Vectra and Signum

Is it a 2.0/2.2?
0400 codes are usually down to leaks in the vacuum pipe network.
-
What is wrong with the car?
-
its a 2.0 it just jerky when you slog it in gears. black smokes on boost. it do over boost 2 20psi and drops back 2 just over 15psi, could i do a way with the egr valve? :y

...could i do a way with the egr valve? :y
I've never heard of that being done on these engines, normally a clean of the e.g.r. valve and inlet manifold suffices...
Like I say 0400 codes are usually down to a leak on the vac. system. The boost valve is vacuum operated so maybe thats causing the over boost issue too.
Check the rubber elbows and 'T' pieces carefully for splits or cracks.
Also check the large bore intercooler/turbo pipes for splits.
How clean is the airfilter?
-
k no worries, its got a KnN panel filter in it also got a tunnin box of some sort. i will check 4 leaks tomorrow and let you no how i get on. thanks 4 your help. :y :y

:yits also got a large front mount intercooler. so it could be somethin simple as a pipe? :y what is the can device?? :y
-
hi mate it was a small pipe split on the vacume pump so i will put the scan tool on it again tue. do you no what would be the problem with the can device? i aint ever heard pf that b4. :y
Vectra 'c' uses a can bus wiring system, this means that a lot of the functions and devices within your car are linked to and 'talk' to each other, without being linked via the main e.c.u.
If I were you I would try and get as much of the car back to standard as possible, and then see what the situation is...
