I put 4 new boots on the car in November last, at a cost of £70 a corner. On December 7th 2010 I got home, turned around in the cul-de-sac & parked on the drive to find the rear nearside flat & cut to ribbons. Found a bloody domehead screw right on the edge of the sidewall! >:(
It can only have happened on the turn & run of 100ft to the driveway ( and no, it wasn't a Jap screw! ;D). Today, would you believe it was bloody Groundhog Day!!!! >:( SAME wheel, SAME type of screw, SAME bloody place on the tyre!!! :o, only this time it was a slow-ish puncture but as before the tyre is fubared! So, having got the grand total of 612 miles out of TWO tyres @ a cost of £140, I have to dig deep again :'( I can only assume that the house being renovated at the bottom of the cul-de-sac is the source of the offending hardware, but unfortunately 'sh*t happens' & i'll be very careful to do a 3 point turn instead (room permitting) & missing the danger zone in future! ;) As 'Littlejohn' says, 'Mind how you go!' :)

It was a tad upsetting on both occassions but since my recent run in with the Grim Reaper (me 1 - GR 0 ;D) I have a new perspective & tend to shrug stuff like this off now ;) :y

Yeah, these things do p*** you off at times Phil but as you say, they pale into insignificance compared to what you, for example, have been through. I'm a very laid-back person these days as well :)

Well I am not visiting you anymore till you got your culdersac swept then, and need to be over your way soon as well... :D :D :D

I'd be keeping the screws, search that section of road for other screws the same, then showing the site manager the evidence... and the bill. >:(

last year happened me 3 times >:( 2 of them on the car repair area (zone) which is not a coincidence..2 on the left front and surpisingly 1 on the right front which was a piece from a broken tree arm :o :(
and the tires were brand new bridgestone turanza er 300 (clit).. this year I'll change to a different size and buy new tires again.. >:( >:(
