Title: Vectra c will not rev above 4000 rpm

Hi all my mate has 1.8 vectra c on 55 plate with z18xe engine but will not rev above 4000rpm anyone got any ideas and what to check

Should be in "general car chat" ......suspect cam sensor possibly?

cam sensor is favourite, but code rewar will confirm

Hi checked for codes
 p0335 Crankshaft sensor "A" open circuit have checked all wiring all found to be ok
 replaced sensor still same problem

Genuine sensor or cheap pattern item?

Pattern sensors are known to cause issues, best off fitting genuine  :y
