What's involved in replacing one? Drivers side in my case, some mild damage from the previous owner has rusted just rearward of the filler cap, and the filler recess has distorted so the filler flap does not close flush. :-/
Guessing it's a pita and repair is a better option. :-/

a lot of cutting and welding. the seams are underneath the trim panel behind the rear door, and basically follow the line down and round. You can do it by drilling out spots welds, but re-alignment is a pain. You are removing a section of the box that helps to form the structure that is so strong, so replacement welding has to be good.
Might be better considering cutting out a section of relatively flat panel around the filler and joggling in a replacement.

Chris, the guy I use is excellent, all jobs have always been perfect and at a very good price.
Best thing to do, is come along with me to the place and get a quote. Or, leave your car with me...take one of mine as a courtesy vehicle as such and I can book it in with him have it done and deliver the car over to you.

Just how big is a Bentley tank? It cost me £43 to fill her Roadster yesterday. :-?

I've sat behind the wheel of an Anarge. It was a very very nice car, but the switch gear looked like someone threw them all & fitted them where they landed. ;D ;D

Its relatively straight forward imho. A new panel will give you a good idea of how the original one is attatched, will almost fall off the car once you start drilling the spot welds.
Mine was off the road for a week when I had the osr quarter panel replaced. That included removing, painting and refitting the tailgate and bumper, and stripping/refitting the interior. Total cost including parts, materials and labour was approx £1300, though I stripped the car, helped where I could, and refitted the interior.
The estate quarter panel has a seam just below the bumper line, so you can replace just whats visible. Can't see the saloon being any different. :-/
To repair it properly, you'll have to pull the bumper off and strip the boot as a minimum.

Don't forget the rear window has to come out on a saloon, plus you need to be able to spot weld the seams reliably to maintain strength. I did it once on my last Mig, a pain.
