Title: Just seen a Senator for sale
Post by: damon80 on 14 April 2011, 19:30:36
Just seen this Senny for sale, on Retro Rides:

Pics not too great, but it looks like a good un!  If only I had the spare pennies...  :'(

Looks good outside and looks even better on the inside. As long as the engine has been looked after, should be a good buy!  :)

Hm now that is interesting, even swmbo heard me thinking..... :o :o

12v engine, how did these perform and what would mpg be?   Possibly thinking of getting a Toy, and giving my Mig to swmbo and getting a small diesel run around for work..... :-/ :-/ :-/

performance between a 12v & 24v is like chalk & cheese, but that's not to say a 12v is slow. As Graeme says, you can't break a 12v ..... they last for ever & you can't give the engines away.  :y :y

Aye, I'd love a 24v (in manual flavour - sorry Andy...  :-[  ;D), but this one looks like a genuine example.

I keep looking at my bank balance, doing the sums, but it ain't happening...  :'(

An ABS member swapped 2 pedals for 3 in a Senator and liked it that much he took the third pedal back out. I've never driven one, but they say that a manual Senator isn't that great ........... like an Omega  ::) ::) ::) ::)

Torquey and performance similar to smaller Omega V6s

2.5 Senator is a waste of time 2.0 Carlton was much better.

I would like to see what happens to a v6 if someone bored it out to 3.6,fitted twin turbos and increased the power output by around 75%.  ;)
I agree about the 2.5 senny btw. I wouldnt even bother with a 3.0 12v. It has to be the 24v. :y
