Never seen one like this , Steinmetz ?,surely not Irmscher ,maybe eastern european origin but whatever the profile between it and the tailgate add on's is grim and it looks like it's missing some parts .......

Agree Olympia........looks bloody horrible :-/

I've seen this car advertised several times the last few weeks..
I actually like the bodykit as its different and not the usual, although I dream of having anytype of bodykit at this time! :'(

Yep, front & back. This has been "sold" at least 3 times. Something to do with schill bidding perhaps ::)
-
Its about th fourth time it has been on fleabay. They are the most shameless schill bidders I have ever seen.
An OOFer went and took some close up pics of it - which I have seen - and the bumpers etc. are a mess. Cracked/split/chipped etc a lot more than the listing shows. ;)
Also has cloth interior, which iirc is unusual for an elite. :-/

Apologies for asking a stupid question but what is this?

Which I can upload if anyone wants to see them :D :D

I can't make my mind up whether I like it or not TBH :-/ :-/
Unsuitable for my needs anyway as you can't have the towbar fitted with that exhaust IIRC ::) ::)
Anyway... I've stopped looking now ::) :y
-
Schill bidding - you use another ebay account (or get a mate to do it for you) to bid up the price of what your selling.
If they would accept its real world value, I might have had it as a breaker, but not for the money they want, and not the way they conduct business. ;)
-
Cheers Albs! Little wiser now :y

I thought fleebay were stopping this kind of bidding,Didn't a case come to court recently ?? Unsure on body kit tho,
:-/ :-/
-
A couple of years ago I was selling a few bits and pieces because I wanted some extra "sneaky" money to treat the wife... She saw one of them on eBay and bid on it because she knew I liked it (she didn't check the eBay ID >:() and I had all my listings pulled and my account suspended for a month ::)
Never mind ::) ::)

That explains why the pictures have been taken with the car wet ;D ;D
I wonder if they've done a dodgy job of touching it up or just photoshpped it :-/ :-/
-
I think it looks quite good, it makes it look like a spaceship with rocket boosters. Wouldn't want mine like that though.
-
Them irmscher bumpers he's got, tbo he is better off just sticking normal ones on the motor, then claim its irmshcer when its that shabby?? >:( >:( >:(
Disgrace to all those who do have irmscher bits and treat it with LOVE!! ;) ;)

The difference is quite shocking really, shows that you should not buy a car from pictures alone... ::) ::) I was obviously lucky with our etate, bought on ebay blind.... :-X
I thought the car looked good, and the cloth seats suit me as I am not a fan of leather.....I intend to investigate leather further, at the lakes meet.... :y :y

I bet it's not the nicest Omega Estate you could find... I can think of 2 very nice ones off the top of my head (and neither of them are mine ;))
-
He might not have more pics readily available but why ignore the question about the damaged bumper. Looking at his pic it`s either a bloody good repair job or a bloody good photoshop job ;D
-
I spoke to Jason, he couldnt get off the phone quick enough. ::) ;D

Irmscher stuff is highly sort after, but that's a right mess, the exhausts are hanging way too low.
On the saloon there is room to have the link pipe altered to accept tow bar. Not sure about estate. :-/

I was the one who went to look at this car and the wife took the shots that RobG has put up. The chap gave us the keys and let us have a good look around it. I had to move it away from the X type Ford Jag they had parked it on and it was in a right state.
both cat codes are up there is mayo like i have never seen the oil is like tar and running from the cam covers, car pass is with it and the sat-nav works with the 07 disc and the 02 disk is in the back, the bumpers look good in the phots the wife has taken ;D ;D ;D but when you see them man they are bad. I asked him how much he wanted for a buy it now and he said he would end the auction for £900 and that was with the N/S wing with the dent in. To be fare with the guy the car has got a new looking alternator. As for the auction the price always gets pushed up at the end by a bidder with "0" or very little history, check out the other cars they have and look at who is bidding ::) ;) :o

Ooohh... Interesting ::) ::)
And no matter what it will involve cutting the bumper. Swan neck type is semi removable and guess will involve the least butchery. Not sure re proper vx detachable.
Sqirelling irmscher stuff are we? ::) :-X. Oh oh, actually yes, irmscher stuff is gaudy chavy ugly gay rubbish over priced and you really don't want it. ESP for an Estate.
Saloon irmscher stuff however is the complete opposite of all the that obviously. As I have all I need thanks. :y. ;D

TBH, I wasn't that worried about it and not sure I like it :-/ :-/
I do like the twin exit exhaust but as I'll be having a fixed tow bar for the LPG filler it kind of rules it out ;) ;)
Oh... And there'd have to be a load of heat shielding put in to pass the LPG inspection anyway ;)

I hate ebay. I refuse to buy cars on eBay. It's such 'dangle berries'. I really do hate egay. And Paypal. And in case I forgot to mention I rather hate gaybay.run by muppets with muppet rules and BS support. What a pile of sh***!

There's always a way. Must admit I couldn't be arsed. Bumper off, bumper on, fiddle with this and that, then the reversing sensors play up just as it looks finished, bumper off, bumper on.....etc etc. >:(

I have just made another successful purchase on ebay, make up for swmbo... :D and am currently winning for an old bmx bike for Miss Vamps... :-X
I have bought and sold a very wide variety of items on ebay, over the last 5 years or so, including buying and selling cars and can say I have never, and I mean never had a problem with buyers or sellers...... :y :y

It doesn't work for me. Technically or from a sense point of view. We had several transactions go wrong for minor items. Re cars viewing is just daft surely.? Buy then view? I don't think so. View, in the flesh, then buy.....?

That would be the most sensible.... :y I would never do it again but I have bought 2 cars blind, and worked out and sold 1 blind........
I am currently looking around at the moment on ebay and auto trader, but would not buy blind again after this thread....... :) :)

I've got to be honest, I've bought 3/4 cars "Blind" on eBay now... I only bid up to what I'm willing to pay, having factored in having to do some remedial work ;) ;)
My saloon came through eBay (blind) and the Estate did, to a certain extent, too :y Although the estate was also on Auto Trader and I did view it before striking the deal :y
Still found things I missed though >:( ::)

I assume that means 3 or 4 cars rather than three quarters ::) ::) ::)
Currently searching for a Land Rover but given OOF would likely ask a member to check it our for me...... :y :y

I would point to the Galant auction as a prime case in point. They should ban re listing... Or something!

We've had all the damage fixed!! that's why I don't understand what your refering to when you want to see pics of damage! There is none! The repair is an immaculate job ;D
-
So in less than a week they have had all the damage fixed ;D ;D shame they could not find time to put some air in the rear tyres and vac out the inside before relisting for the 4th time, and have had the engine fixed and got a 100% legal MoT done ;D ;D :o ;)
-
As its in Reading, I think Mr. Gixer should go and have a look.
Play the dumb innocent buyer at first, and then ask many very awkward questions. Just for a laugh, eh Chris ? ;) ;D
-
well i like it but after reading about the engine/body pics you would be a brave person to buy it.

;D if it's still about when I've finished the LPG I'll go have a look. Don't think there's any rush, do you? ;D
-
Not really, it'll still be there for a Xmas "special" sale ;D ;D ;D
-
I have to admit, I like the front bumper but not the rear on the Estate. If I ever come across that front bumper I might just buy it if it is cheap enough. And I think that car isn't selling for 2 reasons. Shill Bidding and Not As Described possibly.
-
And would it be fair to say, in the current economic climate, people may well have more important things to spend money on than irmscher cars and kits...?
-
Plenty of shill bidding going on again. ::)
-
Never seen one like this , Steinmetz ?,surely not Irmscher ,maybe eastern european origin but whatever the profile between it and the tailgate add on's is grim and it looks like it's missing some parts .......

Yup that's what an Irmscher estate trim looks like - and why I didn't bother and put a F/L one on my PFL - that's the Germans for you!
Yukky isn't it?
Matthew

Ask Pedro if he'll do a deal on his.................
-
There is no point at the mo as I have now just been told yet more work needed for the MOT!
-
It finished at around £1100, but its been relisted almost immediately. Presumably they were bidding it up again and lost the battle of nerves with the other bidders. ::)
-
Looking at the winning bidder's detailed bidding history, 45% of his 101 bids over the past 30 days have been for cars from this same seller.
Looking at the seller's feedback, some of his customers are so satisfied they have bought lots of cars from him! ;)
-
I noticed this car was relisted again and the auction ended yesterday. Did anyone see what it went for and if it was a actually a real bider this time?
It hasn't been relisted as yet... ::)
