Title: A Trip to London Next Month to Do a Few Cambelts
Post by: Darth Loo-knee on 16 May 2011, 20:13:35
I have been asked to come down to London on the Monday 13th June to do a few Cambelts which the fuel cost will be split equally three ways  :y So if anyone else is interested to get theirs done whilst I am down there please let me know :y
I can supply the parts or you can by all means supply your own :y

Cheers
Daz

Meant to say, does that mean you will be at Costa del Peckham with Mr Dundee and sampling the local first class dining and beverage facilities?   ;D   :y

He has ported heads and 3.0 cams - remember Marks thread about it.

As this is only 2 years ago, and I have similar mods can you keep us informed about what has happened.

Must be a kit failure, then, as MDTM fitted that one!

Makes me wonder if it's from the same batch as Jimbob's that failed pretty much straight away. :-?

I had a cam belt kit that failed on a V6 veccy about the same time as mark fitted that to jims car. I take it that theirs were also gen vx kits, as was mine.
It lasted  just under 12,000 miles. >:( It was fitted by a pal who works for vx as a spanner and the correct kit was used to set the belt and tension.

Trying to work out your maths there... 40000-39970 = 30 miles :-?

Yours managed to get to the end of the road at least, so surely 29 miles more than you got? ::) ::)

ignore my maths, meant 25 more than I got - which was just 5 miles  :'( :'( :'(

just while we're talking about cam belts (mines overdue, shuffling v.nervously) are the conti kits good or would vx original be advised, i geuss when you say you're going south Daz that wouldn't reach as far as Austria!
