...Had me renewal quote on me doorstep after returning from hols, wait for it £1800.00 :-X, double what I paid last year, fully comp business use and all the bits insured aswell.
Anyway managed to get it down to £887.00 without business use :-X :-X, the existing insurer would not budge on their renewal quote. Should also point out that I have 14 years no claims.
I hate insurance companies >:( >:(

Mine will be through within the month, not looking forward to it.
-
Had mine through yesterday, its gone from £398 to £1081.65 with 10 years NCB, and thats for business use.... :'(

It's scandalous, and the insurance companies are no doubt all in it together >:(

Definitely, if business insurance wasn't a necessity then I would sure be dropping it off...however I can't risk not having the cover for my work (apart from the fact that we have to supply copies of our insurance, MOT and servicing records)...

Bloody glad i have traders insurance to be honest

mine came through at nearly 1100 pounds so shopped around a bit and got it for just under 500 pounds fully comp parked at the roadside etc so the deals are there the insurance companys hope you will accept what they offer just say to them you had a cheaper quote elsewhere and watch it come down
also there is a guy called martin lewis i think has a page in the sun on saturdays he has a web site called www.moneysavingexpert.com

I think that central government should get involved.
The way insurance companys seem to pick a number out of thin air is what annoys me. The massive increases to last years premiums is totally crazy and unjustified. If certain age groups/genders make more claims than us more mature (older) drivers then that group should pay the extra on thier premiums as they are a higher risk Not us with a proven record (no claims) of good driving.
Rant over >:(
Feel much better now :)
Anyway i always shop around to get the best deal on insurance. With Swiftcover this year £350 fully comp with loads of extras thrown in FOC (chatted her up a bit) ::)

Central government ARE involved ;) ;)
The higher the prices go, the more tax they collect from us :y
Believe me, the goverment ( Any party ) couldn't give two breaks about how much we are paying for fuel / food / insurance ect
This country was on the verge of bankruptcy 12 months ago so they will shaft you for every penny they can get >:( >:(

I must be the only person whose insurance has actually gone DOWN on renewal.
Saga - only catch is that you have to be 50+

Reading posts on here with quotes over £1000 i think i`m lucky with mine at £540 with business use. It did go up a lot when i received my renewal in April, ( £120 increase ) and i did shop around and did find cheaper basic quotes, but by the time i had added all the benefits i had with my exsisting policy, they worked out dearer. Reasons/excuses iv`e heard for the increase include claims involving uninsured drivers. Bit of a lame excuse i think when we are in the age of "The Information Society" and "Databases" where anything seems to be on some sort of database or another. When i tax my car online it is checked for insurance and MOT on a database. Surely someone can liase with the DVLA and come up with a list of cars with no apparent insurance and pay a few visits to the addresses. Yeah.... right >:(

LV seem to be cheaper going through GoCompare than direct. Strange but true.

IME business cover doesn't make much difference to the premium ;)
-
£340 full comp think this due to it beaning a 2.2
-
insurance has gone up, fullstop. the reason.. the no win no fee claim nonsense which has resulted in "personal injury" claims going thru the roof, real or not.
untill the goverment see thru legisilation to change the current set up, expect increases.
