Title: Its MOT time
Post by: Shelby on 08 July 2011, 08:48:13
As the title says, the MOT is due by Wednesday next week.  Getting a tyre done today / tomorrow and need to replace a tie rod end (sat on my desk at home) and drop link (still waiting for it to arrive).

Apart from that, I am hoping there won't be any dramas, its the first time ive put this car through though!

It's always a tense time in the run up to the test isn't it? ;D
Always nice to walk drive away with a full ticket though! Good Luck!! :y

Typical, the drop link that I had ordered hasn't arrived (should of been here 3 days ago)!  Can't see it passing as it is as there is a slight bit of play in the NSF link that I noticed last weekend, i.e. I if I try and move it I get a slight knocking, whereas the other side is solid.

Well it failed, but only on emissions (even with the knocking droplink).  Currently trying to sort / investigate this on another thread.

It runs out tomorrow, good job I have a 'bone rattler' Peugeot 106 as backup.

Another retest today after a 2 day battle to change the cat and she passed.

New cat took emissions from 0.9% CO down to 0.005%, HC down from 80ppm to 15ppm but the lambda was still right on the limit at 1.030 although I think it is blowing very slightly around the manifold which could possibly throw the lambda out a bit.

At the end of the day, another years ticket sorted so we can go on holiday on Saturday now  :y
