Ive searched the forum, owners manual, and Haynes for the maximum noseweight spec (the most weight allowed to bear down on the trailer tow hitch) on my Elite estate without success does any member know where the info can be found? The reason I need the info is I"ve recently bought a new jockey wheel for the pikey wagon as the the old one simply wouldn't cooperate with the caravan mover on certain gravelly or soggy terain, the new one does the job ideally,it has a proper wheel bearing,a broad solid tyre, has sprung suspension,a QD wheel, and a built in noseweight gauge, but this I think could be the achilles heel, very easy then for officialdom or anybody to check out tow car and caravan compatability which is why I need the above spec,so it can have the info ready to hand.

Max nose weight is 75kg on the mig estate from memory, your nose eight should be checked at the tow hitch on the van,not the jockey wheel as its set back further.A piece of wood on a bathroom scales is a pretty good way to check it :y
HTH
Edit just checked the plate on my towbar(brink detachable) and vertical load is 75kg

Thanks Henry, that's right the jockey wheel is reading 110Kgs on my van with the jockey wheel in the trailing position, At the hitch measured with my Bosal noseweight gauge it is in fact 80 kgs, I intend to add an extra reference scale to the J/wheel gauge calibrated to my van.As things are I think road side checks on caravans and tow vehicles are not that far away so just wish I had the 75Kg info in official hard copy, you say you have it on your Brink detachable, well thats given me the idea to get in touch with my towbar maker who happens to be Alko Kober the same maker, as it turns out, of the jockey wheel,so one would think I'll be OK, Thanks Henry, great stuff, seems youve pointed me in the right direction :y :y

Agreed its 75Kg. Page 146 in the pre-facelift owners manual states this. I seem to remember seeing it somewhere elso tho 'cos i had to buy a handbook which only arrived recently.
