Title: Car insurance...
Post by: 51M0N on 25 August 2011, 18:04:45
Where do they pluck their prices from??!!!

I've just got a renewal for my Omega. 1995 3.0 Elite manual saloon, with all modifications declared (a lot of them)

5 years licence, 1 years no claims, i'm 22 and it was fully comp with £500 excess.

Who would like to hazard a guess?

£659.59

Now I'm pleased with that. However bear with me.
This is how I cannot understand their pricing

I tried a few other vehicles.

1999 1.0 corsa 12v £450!!!!  :-?

1994 toyota supra twin turbo import £747

Ferarri f50 £1568

1994 Impreza WRX wagon import (what i used to have) £2400

See my point now?

Its all about risk groups ;)

Few Ferrari owners, for eg, wrap them round lamposts, but Corsas owners do...

That's cheap. I'm with admiral. Hopefully mine will come down then. On my renewal I'll be 29, will have been driving for 10 years and have 5 years ncb. No points. FC seems to be only marginally more expensive than TPFT
