30mpg on gas? Never seen a 3.0/3.2 get more than 21/22!

Infact your hard pressed to hit 30mph on petrol  :-/

Instant or average?

Over the course of a tank, I can barely crack 27mpg out of our 3.0

I wish I could find some of this LPG which is half the price of petrol. Petrol 133p per litre, Lpg between 74p and 84p per litre.
I also wish I could achieve these MPG figures I keep reading about. My (optimistic) MID reads 24mpg over a long period of time. 2.5 v6 driven gently, but little motorway mileage. Mostly B roads.

Any Asda retailers near you? I tend to use Asda at High Wycombe, price dropped, think it was 67p last time I filled up.

Asda round here doesnt do LPG. Cheapest is actually a small independent in Sudbury, who runs an LPG installation business.

I was surprised to find petrol is 3p a litre dearer over your way, too (I was in Braintree/Bradwell/Chelmsford last night) - I thought it'd be cheaper than here..

Average! That was with some 120 mph blasts aswell! It was averaging high 30s when I slowed down to 60-70

You might be, but mine manages it! Hell, I got 28 mpg with 3 people, a bootful of stuff and my bike on the back, cruising at 100mph for most of the trip on holiday earlier this year. That was the average over 1800 miles, and it's better than my old 525. It's improved since I fitted a new cambelt; the old one was a tooth out on all 4 cams.

I used to get around 27 on a trip to the coast in my 3.0.

Surpisingly my 1.8 20V T golf only averages around 29mpg to a tank... To be fair thats because the only way to make the blasted thing move is to keep the boost constant  ;D ;D

I want my mig back........ :-X

Are you like 5 years old?  :-/  :-?

The 3.0 Estate we have, had from 70k miles, generally get 27mpg average.

Sorry but there is no way on this earth a two ton car with a 3.0 engine, can average 35mpg including a "120 mph" run over the course of 75L of fuel. Either your MID was changed before you owned it, or your speedo is still off.

Driving to south of france on a very, very long run, you may get near that, but not in the UK.

MPG wise, I get 25 mpg easily on gas, but that equates to at least 50mpg. Er so "ha"
