whats the symptoms of the autobox?  there very soft but sometimes there savable

It's lost its forward gears,it still has reverse,common on renaults apparently,my friend only had it 4 days!,he paid £400 for it,said all he wanted was his taxi fair home and enough to go to the chippy...lol

I didn't rip him off!,gave him what he asked for,i did offer him more,he just wanted rid of it,it is a shame to break it though,but to have it repaired its going to cost around £700,looked in all local breakers yards but all autoboxes already gone,if anyone wants anything let me know...wayne

My apologies, did'nt mean you ripped him off, as u gave him what he asked for, u could have gave him a lift home though to save him the taxi fare on the way past the chippie ;D

accepted :y,unfortunately my omega was on axle stands at the time (doing both front lower arms and dampers),wanted to give it me originally as i do a fair few favours for him(mostly free...lol)

Have you tried any online used spare part searchs? for a gearbox I've used them to some success. Just Google used car spare parts, and take it from there If you are successful you will get one or several calls from breakers ( usually quite early) with prices terms etc :y

A Renault auto box failing, surely not, they were made by Lego.......its a VERY common problem so not surprised you cant find one!

My missus gave me quite a bit of grief when i bought the laguna,up to yet front bumper sold for £30 so got my money back there,then engine sold on ebay for £122,guess what,she's ain't moaning so much now!

yep theres money in breaking - without a word of a lie i am over £2500 on a £600 outlay on two rovers and the omega cdx - h and ive bagged a private plate as well  :y
