Can anyone shed some light on this car? It seems to be an international mix of different Omegas.

What country's plate is that?

Obviously it thinks it's a Vauxhall but I've never seen an Omega with headlights and a facia like this.

The silver accents scream Holden Commodore. The flairs are a little Subaru Outbackish to me but they do bring the "B" closer to the new Vectra's styling.

The badges are Opel so what gives?

The headlights and bumper cover have to be from a Commodore, don't they?

The new look front and rear works for me but the black flairs are tacky. I'd like them more if they were colormatched
like the door strips are. Also, the chrome accent on the door strips have got to go.

So, what is this thing?

Headlights look like Passat (or possibly Saab) ones - bonnet edge doesn't meet them correctly

tis a tasty lookin car, even with those rover 25 streetwise bumpers!!
-
So busy posting the pictures I forgot to include the site. There are other cars these guys modify including a couple of Steinmetz Omegas and assorted Opels I know little about.

Yes definately Thailand :y
The car is still on Hire purchase :y..white plates in Thailand (not fully paid for) red plates (fully paid for) green plates (truck or pick up) :y. I have only ever seen 1 omega in thailand up north east area and that was a pre-facelift estate Oh and the sooped up one for sale in Pattaya, with a toyota engine in it. Second hand cars are very very expensive in Thailand >:(

Duh. Staring me right in the face. Oh well. I guess I should stop drinking and surfing. I'm liable to hurt someone.

The modified estate is in Bangkok, as is the auto shop doing the mods, just/not too far from the Duang Muang airport :y

Hi, would this "Mystery Omega Caravan" be based upon a Holden, the reason I say this, is that Thailand and Australia are on each others doorsteps, so to speak. It would be easy for GM to export to that part of the world via Holden, if you look at the bumpers, they look like one on the late 90's Commodore's.
-
If you take a look at the 'work in progress' pictures you can see in the first picture that it looks just like a pre-facelift omega, but since the plate looks kinda australian its got to be a holden. They even took out the 4-pot and put a 3.0 in there. Kudos to the body man as apart from the chrome door strips left on there (lazy....) the rest of the mods work really well and bring the car upto date. Got an Audi Allroad feel to it - shame its not 4wd!

Commodores are wider than Omegas and can be distinguished by the lengthwise seams along the roof of the Holden. This custom Omega does use Holden parts though. I posted this on the Catera site and it was revealed exactly what Commodore variant's parts were used.
