Title: Some pics of my LPG conversion
Post by: Lazydocker on 19 August 2008, 20:39:49
Unfortunately there aren't as many as I'd like but...

The ECU in position... Not as much room when you've got SL Suspension ::) ::)

The Vaporiser in position and connected... Got to mind the EGR pipes or it'll melt the rubber hoses

ECU connections. Due to the slight lack of wire in the supplied loom (probably more due to the route I took!!) I actually intercepted the required wires just outside the main ECU plug and soldered them there! It was still a tight squeeze getting the plug back on and the ECU into place.

Diagnostic Plug... Nice and accessible :y :y

You can just make out the vaporiser under the airbox... A very tight fit

The LPG pipe... Protected by some old heater hose to ensure there are no snagging points when I have it inspected :y :y (the COP is a bit vague in the description of acceptable risk of damage to pipeline ::) ::)

Pipe and wiring running front to rear

And finally for this instalment... The engine bay now it's all back together :y :y

I'll stick some more up tomorrow after I've finished the back end :y :y :y

Good progress....
What's the chances of water ingress with the ECU that low to the ground?

It's not actually as low as it looks... Poor camera skills and bad perspective!!  :-[ :-[ It's actually a good 3 or 4 inches higher than the inner wheel arch :y :y :y

I think it should be OK as long as I don't go through any "puddles" deeper than about 9 inches!!! ::) ::)

Calibration is easy and it runs with no noticeable difference in power :y :y :y
