I spent about 6 hours on the car  :o

I used the Meguiars clay kit, pricey but works a treat.

The 6 hours were taken up by washing the car first and towling dry then the claying process which takes the time and then followed up with a polish and finally a wax coat. I also polished the glass and used good old Autoglym bumper care to shine up the plastic bits.

Shampoo = Meguiars Classic Gold £14 - £15
Clay kit = Meguiars detailing kit which comes with 2 bars of clay a drying towel and the lubricant £23ish
Polish = Meguiars Crystal Polish £9
Wax = Meguiars NXT(?) I don't remember the price. but did come with a applicator pad.

Where did you buy the kit from bud? If the results are like that then I need to buy me some clay.

Just remember to keep the clay on the wet stuff!!

Apply the spray to the car body,m mould the clay into the shape of the palm of your hand and then gently move it over the liquid, if it drags a bit then you know that it has either dried out or you have moved off the wet.

when the surface of the clay gets dirty, scrunch it up, knead it and reshape it.

it can take a fair few hours to to an entire car, make sure the car is not in direct sunlight (not much chance of that currently) and the panel work is not too hot as it will evaporate the liquid....

you will get a feel for it once you are on your way, and when you feel the paintwork after it has been done it will feel really smooth  :y

Hi,

If you're looking for car-care products, we stock a few assorted Meguiars products at www.shinycars.co.uk.

We are a fairly new Business based in the north east of England, but we are trying to build stock and offer competative prices.

Please feel free to have a look around. E-mail us if there are any products out there that you use and would like us to start stocking.

I use Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo along with Autoglym Resin Polish and Aquawax myself and am more than pleased with the results I have been getting. The 'Nautilus Blue' has a really deep look to the shine. I'll try and sort some pics out next wash (next sunny day). 8-)
