This is what my car looked like last week.

I am picking it up one day this week, so will post a pic of it when it's done, but to be honest.... It can't look any worse [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]
-
So.......
What does it look like now?
-
I don't know yet, should be picking it up on sunday.
So will post pics then.
-
Camouflage?
-
Lol.
I had to prep the car in a hurry.
Ran out of grey primer, and couldn't be bothered to pop down to halfords.
A bit cheeky really lol. But, with the amount of paint thats gone on it, you'll never notice the black...
Or failing that, if you do, i'll just have to park in the countryside, that way you won;t notice the shoddy paint job LOL

Sure it'll be ok with colour coat on.
Extract part page from my web site shows primer then colour on my TR many years ago - was originally British Racing Green - click - http://www.dbug.co.uk/trs.htm

Got my car back from the spray shop.
Not 100% happy with it, as there is silver overspray, and they have just lacquered over it!!!
Gave it a bit of a clean, and a light coat of wax to try and get a shine....
See what everyone thinks............ ??
At least it looks a little better than it went it.
Even though it took them nearly 9 weeks!!!!!!!!!!

Looks a lot better matey. But I hope the price reflects a 9 week wait and the fact they were lazy with the masking tape/overspray.
-
It was supposed to only be a 2 week turn around.
You've no idea how bad the paint job is!!!
The pics don't look that bad, but there are bits on the car where they have over masked, and you can see the original paint!!!!
Looking at getting it re-done with some one else.
Or failing that, getting rid of it, but that is the final resort, as it is hard to find a good mv6 with these specs........
-
Just zoomed in on the rear sreen, I see what you mean.
Looks like they have left it till last minute and then just rushed it to get it done and out the way. :-/
-
Like i said....
This is how bad they are.........
Yesterday they would have had the car 9 weeks....
The cost was £300 if i supplied the paint etc...
Which in total cost me nearly £200 all in.
They used that paint, after the car had been sat for 6 weeks gathering dust.
But.....
The paint was no good, according to them.
they basically started spraying it at 8am and by 6pm they had applied 4 coats of sealant, 3 hi-build primer, 6 moon dust silver, and 2 lacquer...
And then they wonder why it reacted!!!
so i had to wait over a week for them to sand it all back and start again.
But atleast they bought the paint this time!!!
And this is the end result...
-
if you've paid for that paint jobfrom an actual garage, i'd ask about getting it re-done properly, in writing
-
thats the problem, it was my mates boss that did it!!
He used to respray cars for a living, no does it part time...
Usually rolls them out at 1 every 9 weeks or soooo lol

you need to tell him you're not happy with it and it needs re-doing
-
yep thats what i'll be doing...
so hopefully i'll be able to put some nice pics of my miggy on her next week..
It needs finishing first, finishing polish and buffing, see what result we get from that...
but for the masking, they've got their work cut out, as in a few places there is about a 3 or 4mm gap where you can see the original paint
-
feel for you mate all that waiting and then to be dissapointed. :'(
-
Looks like he was p*ssed when he masked up the rear window :(
Wouldn't accept that - a 10 year old kid could mask a straightish line up better than that!!
-
you could of done a better job yourself on your drive with a few spray cans.
for someone that has been doing respray's for a living i cant see how he made any money if all his respray's came out like that
-
Not wishing to appear awful, but he's even got over spray on the shin breaker cap. :o :o :o
He did for a living, i wonder why he stopped :-/ :-?
It's a real shame matey. I hope you get it sorted soon :y :y
-
Christ...
Well it's an improvment but I would be round there having words mate... >:(
-
Thanks for all your comments..........
I've decided to get it blown over, there is a garage near to me, they said thy would do it for £300.
It's either that, or sell the car

My thoughts exactly. :(
-
Hallo,
What type of antenna do you have. It looks great can you let me know where to buy one for my Miggy.
-
Sorry mate but that looks rough as a bears arse :(
It seems to me their heart wasn't in it frankly. I'd use this a lesson, bite the bullet and take it somewhere else for a pro job, and good luck getting all that overspray off :o
-
I would'nt want him to do it again even free of charge. i'd want my money back which probably wo'nt agree to in which case give it a year or two for the dust to settle then..........(you know what i mean). i'd make him pay one way or another.
Before you get it painted again make sure it's prepped beforehand or you'll waste more money. You won't get a fresh coat to take without a good key off which might involve removing all the laquer this inbred through at it. Sympathies.
Such pondlife should be hung by thier nostrils until they can recite War & Peace word perfect......IN LATIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:( :'(

I think the results speak for themselves, no wonder he stopped spraying cars for a living since he's evidently no good at it. You need to get him to sort that out or compensate you.
-
thats one of the worst jobs iv seen i mean they cart even be bothed to make it up proly.Im a panal beater and spraypainter by trade and when i do full resprays i take everything off the car ie lights, glass, boot, bonnet, doors, bumpers etc and paint all the panels one by one.How much did you pay for the full respray.Im hoping to do my miggy over chrismas and shouldnt cost me no more £500 for it
-
unfortunately, I paid £300 plus nearly £200 for the paint.
What a mugg!!
Now got to pay for someone to do it properly.

-
Well £300 for a full respray is cheap but thats prob why its ruff as it is.Cheap doesnt always mean good but end of the day you pay for what you get.Are there any runs on the paint work
