Title: My new project, a 1942 Willys Jeep from the LRDG

[size=14]Right heres one of my new projects it a 1942 willys jeep from the LRDG (long Range Desert Group) and I've been given the job to restore it, it's a runner and I had a drive in it yesterday it also has tax insurance and MOT, so watch this space[/size]

Very nice Jim but i think you'll struggle to find an irmscher kit for this one mate ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D

No it's not mine.

I'II post more pic's as I do bit's and pieces to it, we only have 1 week to get it cleaned up for the display we are putting together :o

Of coarse it has, but it only works when you close the electric leather roof. ::)

Nice looking motor that. always wanted one of them. had a 1958 commer q4 & a 1952 AEC militant 6+4 amoungst other stuff.  :y

Yes it rather hard sitting on a willys especially when the seat is made from a sack
 ::) ;D ;D

It's good fun, we have all the kit for it ie; deactived twin vickers machine guns, extra fuel tanks

I couldn't believe the price willys jeeps go for £6-12,000

They fetch a good price these days. a bit out of my range though now.  :(

I'm glad I didn't buy it, it's good fun to drive but it only has 3 forward gears, 1st gear is where 2nd normally is, and 2nd gear where 3rd should be and 3rd gear where 4th would be and the reverse gear is where 1st would be on a normal H shape gear box.

Also the engine is a 2.1 petrol
